To go along with that last post, I just want to say a big thank you to everyone in my life who made 2011 the fantastic year that it was. Yes, I did a lot and had so many wonderful experiences, but it wasn’t the events that made them such, it was the people I was with.
Thank you to my fun, nerdy-fabulous roommate Carrie for putting up with me and making me watch all those TV shows I’ve been missing out on and subjecting me to as little of The Real Housewives and Teen Mom as possible.
Thank you to everyone who let me stay with you when I traveled this year. To lovely Tamika for hosting me in Austin for SXSW. To always hilarious Lisa in L.A. for being so gracious and not kicking me out when I got that terrible cold. To my dear Caryn for inviting me down to Savannah so I could spend my 30th in the warmth and beauty of that city with one of my favorite people.
Thank you to all my friends who make my life as full and rich as it is. You’re all unique and lovely and make life more interesting. To the old ones who stick by me always and the new ones I’ve so enjoyed meeting this year. And to my best friend Nicole for including me in her wedding celebrations. It truly was an honor.
Thank you to HitRECord for inspiring me every. single. day. For your shows and the friends I’ve met through the site. To Joe for all your hard work and for remaining so regular even while being so extraordinary. To Jared for all the work you do behind the scenes to keep things running smoothly. To Marke for your awe-inspiring design work. And everyone else who makes that place what it is and what it will be. Life would be bland without that big red button.
Thank you to my family. Small we might be in numbers, but we’re big in heart. You support my crazy trips and my ukulele playing and my veganism. You put up with my complaining about my job and you celebrate when I finally get a new one. You knit me cute hats and send me Murder She Wrote puzzles. What else could I ask for?
Lastly, thank you to NYC for never giving me a dull moment. They say if you make it here 3 years and you’re still in love with the place then you’re a New Yorker. It’s been over 3 years now and I am still in awe with you. Still love walking down your streets and riding your subways and marveling at your people. Still can’t get over just how amazing you really are. And next month when I have to move away, you’re going to be the hardest place I’ve ever had to leave.
And to anyone I may have missed. The online friends I’ve still never met but keep me constantly amused. The people at work who make my job fun. The people on the street who I’ll never probably meet.
Thank you. ♥
